The Crab Festival is produced annually by the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce for the benefit of the residents of Kodiak Alaska. Crab Festival is a time for the community to celebrate its abundant resources from the sea. The Festival is traditionally held Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (closing on Memorial Day).
It is the intent of the management to coordinate a variety of family oriented activities that will provide men, women and children a festive and fun recreational outlet. For the Kodiak business person and local nonprofit, the Crab Festival is intended to be a prosperous time to enhance their business/organization and raise needed revenues.
Kodiak Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Coast Guard Appreciation Event "We Applaud You." This event provides the Kodiak community an opportunity to salute and recognize Coast Guard personnel for their hard work and dedication to making Kodiak a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. The Coast Guard attendees are selected by their individual command and are often the men and women who work behind the scenes to get the job done.
The next Coast Guard Appreciation Dinner will be held February 2017.
Every first Saturday in May (weather permitting) Community citizens, leader and volunteers join together to help clean up Kodiak. Lunch is provided to all volunteers.
The Chamber has several programs to keep Kodiak clean. We rely on our member, sponsors, and community to help us fight litter on our road and parks.
Every October the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce celebrates as great year and to recognize several Chamber Members who have gone above and beyond to support the Chamber and the Kodiak community. We encourage all of our members to attend the evently night.
Each month a member of the Chamber hosts a Business After Hours to showcase their business and provide networking opportunities for Chamber members.
For more information about Business After Hours please contact the Chamber at 486-5557.
